Financial Literacy at Metropolitan High School

Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well- warmed, and well-fed. ― Herman Melville

Financial Literacy at Metropolitan High School

0

Most of the U.S. population has an inadequate education in financial literacy which can lead to a lifetime of poverty, agreeing to debt without the means to pay it off, and a retirement that consists of a supplemental social security check as the only means of survival.

CleanSlate has facilitated a financial literacy course for the students at Metropolitan High School and empowered them to make positive and rationale life choices related to their finances. The goals they have accomplished through our workshop coincide with their school’s vision statement as well as the national conversation regarding the lack of financial and STEM education in the U.S.

These students have been given a head start in life and are several steps ahead of the generations before them thanks to our donors, supporters, sponsors, and our wonderful board.
